Dear Greg, Best wishes for a great birthday! I greatly enjoyed meeting you following the Black Moon Tour performance at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia Maryland. I was immediately struck by how friendly a person you are, without pretentions which often accompanies status. My son, who's name also is Greg, hopes yet to be able to meet you. He's 21 and a big fan. Bruce Pilato very kindly and most surpringly sent Greg an autographed photo years back along with a King Biscuit Greg Lake Live CD. Thanks again for your kindness, Greg, and best wishes to you for new horizons ahead. I enjoyed very much covering "From The Beginning" and "Lucky Man" in a show a couple of years back. The overwhelming response from the crowd showed me both how relevant the music is and that it needs to played live. People nneed to remember how great it all was and yet can be again. I look forward to your next tour, Greg, and hope we may be able to meet again! MOst Sincerely, Chuck Wagner http://home dot comcast dot net/~chuck.wagner/music.htm

Happy birthday Greg, I do hope this is gonna be a far-out and marvellous time for you, and your family. "We carry the dust of the journey, that cannot be shaken away"... this sounds like the simple truth indeed, because it's been a long and amazing journey so far, and it'll go on the same way forever and ever, for your music is immortal! May the roads rise to meet you one day!

Dear Greg Lake, I always thought that those "years" that we use to attribute to life were worthhless. People with extraordinary souls transcend all those ordinary "years" of living and live how much they want to. But it is not always we can live in the same terraqueous plan, in the same "time". It cheers me knowing I have the opportunity to live at the same time as you. I wish in everyday of all my lives your music is present! That's what I want. I wish you all the best in that world, now and always. I want you to live all the lives you want! Have a good luck, have a good life, have a good music! Love, Iasmin

Happy Birthday Greg. Having attended your superb show at the Wycombe Swan last year I'm sure you felt the dissapointment of the recent tour cancellation as much as all of us long-standing fans did (A Fan since 1972 myself!). I'm sure 2007 will bring us new opportunities to see and hear you perform and I look forward to having that opportunity. Here's hoping for some new material soon with that splendid band of yours and your formidable production skills! Best Wishes Bryan Roberts

Best birthday wishes for a fellow Scorpio (I was born on All Hallow's Eve), and world-class musician/producer. Your music has shaped my world for 3/4 of my life, and its impact is no less today than it was when BSS emerged. After setting aside the making of music for twenty years or so, I recently picked up the guitar once more. One of the first pieces I decided to tackle was one of your most overlooked performances, Bo Diddley from the box set. Unfortunately, it was just a reminder of how far my talent has to develop! You continue to have my full support, both spiritually and financially, in whatever ventures you may pursue, and I wish you and your family the very best of fortunes. Sincerely...

Greg, Hope you have a wonderful b-day,a day doesnt go by where yourself keith and carl dont enter my mind, seeing them in their various states this year was great, but without you it wasnt the same, and never will be, I know it can be fun like when I saw you with ringo. We just want to see you and hear you, it doesnt have to be big it just has to be You! You still got it and we all know it! (look at the Asia re) saw them twice and it was great. That being said imagine.......ELP always blew anyone off stage! PS I remember 1 show during the Black Moon tour State Theatre near Rutgers NJ Lots of college kids, after the show myself and a friend stood at the exit doors like ushers and listened to the crowd leaving, everyone was totally blown away, I mean they were floored! it was great I felt like a proud papa (being a huge fan since about 76) So whether its solo or with the boys Im sure youll blow us away. I really wish you all could just have fun and Jam Sorry about the long wind (I hope it hears!) Have a great B-day Your fans love you and are true! Eric

Dear Greg: I have always been a big fan of you and ELP. While just missing seeing you play in the seventies, for which I still occassionally tear my hair out over, I was there for various incarnations of E,L,or P in the eighties. And I saw every ELP reunion tour in the nineties. I was amazed at how great your voice still sounds. I have been hopeful for there to be another go round here in the states someday, either solo or with the band. But take your time and do it your way, its the only way. You have always been the heart and soul of the ELP magic. Speaking for all fans here, we've missed you. Peace be upon you and have a fantastic birthday, John

Dear Greg, On the way down from the top of Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park, one can look to the right and see three bodies of water across the valley, situated majestically in the snow capped peaks. Two of them have a name. We haven't been able to find the name of the third. So my wife, of 22 years, and I decided to name it. To us, it is affectionately known as, "Greg Lake." Happy Birthday! Hello Greg, I wish you a very happy birthday! My first wish is that you are happy with your family and friends on this day! I have been listening to your music since I was 15. Now I am 44 and I have such a great time when I play on the guitar your songs. I never saw you in a solo concert or with your own group, but I can tell you that I always loved when you play 'Watching Over You' on stage. And also when you sing 'Pirates' or 'The Sage'. I must say I find very cool the way you express yourself on stage when you play bass with such intensity. So I wish all the best to you. Milo Albonico (I am Italo-American) living the good life in Nice, Cote Azur, France.

Greg, Happy Birthday to the best vocalist I have ever heard recorded!!!! And I have known a few, some you might know: Marc Bonilla, once with a little group caled Rock Island, from my old stomping grounds. They played at the time when Journey was playing at local High Schools and such, one band went one to make it big. My life long dreams are to put together a super band that would include you, Gregg Rolie, and the percussion section with Chepito adn his son, Eric Clapton, and my life long frien who played with Rock Island, and nearly lost his life with bacterial menenghitis, however, as a life long musician, he lost all his fingertips, and most of his toes to the disease. I want to put together a concert, Manny Valdez, another friend, can handle most of the above paeople, and it would be an honor to have you join the festivities. An album, a concert at the Royal Hall, and turning it into a movie is the best idea yet. Will forward to you DVD of Mark, the one who is still revcovering, and would love to work with you on the creative side of things. I know this is sounding like a whore here, but I have wanted to do this for so long, and this e-mail to me gave me the chance. I do think that you will respond to ask about the event mentioned above. It is in the early planning stages, and you are a critical part of it, even though you may not know it yet. Again, hate to sound so cheap, but I got that out with a very warm Birthday Greeting to the one vocalist whom all others should be measured up to. Have a great day, and keep in touch. Dear Greg: I saw you in a solo concert back when your first solo album came out. The concert was so much fun and nice to see you without all the dramatics of ELP. Altought I have seen you with Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Powell. The solo concert stands out. I wish I had the chance to see you with Ringo Starr. I am most grateful for the work you have done with The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. This is such a noble thing you do. Blessings to you and your family. Hello, my very, very dear old friend. You don't know me. But I know you for ages. Its the tragedy of my life, that I never saw ELP live on stage. The only chance I had in 1997 in Dortmund "Out in the Green", I missed you, because you played first instead of playing as the top act as announced. I have known your "special service man", Mr. Dirk Dickten from Steinway New York, more than 20 years ago. I lost contact, but still remember very well. Let me just tell you something: ELP was an access to the NEVER-BEFORE- and -NEVER-AGAIN philosophy in music performance. Before the future had begun, you walked through it. They were absolutely singular in the past, absolutely outstanding in performance for a 3-member-group, and they will the the measuring point for any kind of music performance in future. All the best wishes from Thomas from Wuppertal, Germany.

Dear Greg: Happy birthday to you! This year I notice myself listening to work you did years ago when both you and I were younger than it seems possible today. I've always admired the spirit of bravado you brought and bring to your musical endeavors. The world has changed from monophonic Moogs and art-rock-ized Blake poems to netlabels and virtual voices through VST plug-ins. Ambient artists such as myself, though, never, if we are honest, forget the debts we owe to the spirit of Crimson and ELP. Have a great Birthday! It has been an incredible ride listening to your music. Thank you so much! Just to make you chuckle; I'm FINALLY updating all of my old cassette's into CD's of your great music. Isn't time funny?! Here it is 2006 and the way we listen to music has changed. When cassettes came out we all thought WOW how great music sounded. But then came QUADROPHONIC (remember?!) and now CD's. Regardless of what medium it is on when I listen to your music, I still feel the same age. It brings me back to that space and time. What a ride! Have a great day and hope you get to do something really special with family and friends. Best Regards, Ams

Greg, I was at your first concert at the eastown in detroit michigan. I had no clue what i was getting myself in for but you and the band changed the way I'v listened to music forever. Throughout the 70's i saw every concert in the detroit area (when things were cheap). I even have some great B&W footage of the band if you would like to see a couple of pics. Have a great birthday and keep doing what your soul tells you must. I know I will be the beneficiary. Feel free to contact me anytime althought i cant think of a reason but if you ever need anything let me know. Greg, keep on rocking!!!!!! The first time I ever heard you was with King Crimson, and I still think that In The Court Of The Crimson King is one of the most ground breaking, under rated, and ahead of it's time albums ever. Since then, I have been a big fan, and I just can't get enough of your music. I not only own damn near all of your official releases, but I have a huge collection of live unreleased converts which I treasure and listen to often, so like I said, keep on giving us your great music.

Dear Mr. Lake, Please accept my very special wishes to you on your Birthday 2006! This is a special day for the many progressive rock fans, such as I, who grew up entranced by your creative artistry, and who have followed you throughout your illustrious career. Your presence has been very special to me. From hearing the first King Crimson album, your voice, guitar and bass playing, and production expertise, have influenced me deeply. Your work during the ELP period was not only key to opening up my early appreciation of classical music, but a major inspiration in my decision to apply myself towards vocalization, bass and guitar playing, and producing. In your honor, I have for several years now been performing in the Los Angeles, California area with 'Knife Edge', an ELP tribute band- to pay homage to your work in this period- and to strive to keep my own musical skills up by performing much of this challenging repetoire! While one could never duplicate your inimitable style, we have attempted to do justice to your work. I humbly apply myself to work towards the highest standards- those that YOU have set as a vocalist and instrumentalist. So, I want to say 'thank you'- not only for all the years of great music, but also for maintaining the highest quality of standards in an age of increasing mediocrity. As a result of my work with this tribute group, and via contacts our keyboard player had with Will Alexander, I was given the opportunity to acquire your entire Trace Elliot touring system- which is a once-in-a-lifetime dream come true for a fan/musician such as myself! So, therein is an even deeper connection here than that of the average fan, and somewhat indicative of the power of your music. G-d Bless you Greg on the occassion of your Birthday, with wishes for Peace, Love, and Happiness, and many more Happy Birthdays to follow. Sincerely, John Rotondi Ventura, CA. USA

Greg, Happy Birthday! I just celebrated by 49th on Nov 3rd, and your music has captivated me ever since one cold night in December of 1973, December 17th at Madison Square Garden in New York City. That ELP show was my first concert ever, sixteen years old and you completely blew me away. Third row center there at the Garden, I can vividly recall the show, your twin bass cabinets with alternating purple lights, completely riveted until the last snowflake fell after that wonderful rendition to Silent Night with the choir illuminated behind you. Thank you very much for sharing your musical gifts through the years. I also saw you and the guys at the Garden again for the Works tour in July of 1977, fortunately still with the orchestra at the time. I have a roll of excellent slides of the Works tour, if you can use them on the website, please let me know. My best to you and your family! David Bishay Rock Hill, SC USA

Dear Greg, Your playing and writing are still a major influence in my musical tastes and bass playing. Your incredible voice and inspired bass lines are just as enjoyable now as they were 35 years ago. I'll never forget the times my bandmates and I would pile into a 1969 Impala and drive to college listening to those incredible ELP albums. That is still my favorite music to this day. I hope your birthday brings you peace, happiness, and good health to enjoy a new year filled with new opportunities. Best Regards, Jack

I hope you have a good birthday. You'd probably have a difficult job keeping it quiet anyway! I was at last years Worthing concert and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I first heard you sing on Fluff Freemans Saturday afternoon show in '70 when he played 'In the wake of Posiedon' and I've been a fan ever since. !!!Happy Birthday!!! Mr. Greg Lake, Through your dedication and persperation, words of merriment have found their place with me. Because of you, channeled words of promise and debauchery have allowed my writings/worx, to sell better than 75 million albums. (has your intrest peaked?, send a reply and we'll go indepth) You inspired me to listen, careful use of subjected words and imagination is a terrible choice to waste. Thank You, from the bottom of my heart to the nucleus of every living cell in my body. Because of you and all your wonderful words thru singing, a little heartbreak has built a castle of optimism. Emerson, Lake and Palmer, music for the masses. Uplifting, downtrodden, fantasticly whimsical life events revealed through song. Your solo albums, helped me walk up an exit from hell. Even the broken hearted can smile......... Lots of love and respect, Woody

Dear Mr. Lake, HAPPY BIRTHDAY on 11/10!!!!! I hope this finds you and your family healthy and happy, the Holidays are almost upon us...here in Wisconsin we went to summer to almost winter, hardly any Fall, except for today, more like Indian Summer, 57 degrees!! I had the wonderful opportunity of seeing you TWICE in concert, ELP at the Madison (at that time called the Coliseum), where I saw "WORKS", full choir, orchestra, it was truly a breathtaking experience...then again, at the Madison Civic Center, another ELP, but as inspiring as the last time I saw you. I love your solos, I have EVERYTHING from ELP, I started my collection, in the early 70's, and hope to see more Greg Lake CDs out soon!! Again, all my best, Mr. Lake...thank you for so many years of wonderful music, and very happy memories that went with the music!! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, from a Wisconsin, USA fan...ALWAYS!!! Fine Birthday Greetings, Greg! I, too, celebrate a November birthday -- the 30th! Excellent month for birthday celebrations! May I tell you an excellent story? When I first heard you sing/play, I was 17. (Now I'll be 54! Giggles at that!) My friend, Judy and I decided to see a rock concert. Now, Judy just won the most promising young opera singer at Julliard School or Music/NYC. I was studying music at Jersey City State College and studied the flute, during the summer months, at Yale University. We knew NOTHING about rock music! But we decided to go to a rock concert to see what that "other world" was all about. Talk about two little (classical) fishes out of water -- we didn't know what to expect! We wound up going to your concert and the cutest thing is that I became a fan of yours for years, years and years!!! I even bought a great drum set, studied with an excellent teacher and joined a rock band! What fun! Nowadays, I play the flute with two local orchestras and the Georgian Court University Flute Ensemble in Lakewood, NJ. Quite age appropriate -- wearing an elegant gown, performing for very well-mannered audiences! But enough of my friendly chatter. I wish you a fine birthday celebration, Fellow Musician Greg! All the best to you always! Sincerely, Michele Spadaro-Kuczuk, BA, MA, Music Ed.

Dear Greg: I'll never forget you doing a verse from "Epitaph" during "Battlefield" at Madison Square Garden (in quadraphonic sound!). The Brain Salad Surgery Tour was one of the greatest concerts of my lifetime. But I will never forget this special moment. It was very depressing when the band broke up. Although I am a keyboard player, all of you took my music to a level I never dreamed possible. The joy it gave me, and now suddenly, it was gone. Then one day in the summer of 1987, I was in my car listening to the radio, when all of the sudden I heard your voice again and that distinct Keith Emerson sound. It was the last verse of "Touch and Go". When I arrived at my job, I locked myself in my private office and called home. I remember crying and hardly able to speak as my concerned wife asked me what was wrong. I assured her there was nothing wrong. I was being welcomed back by my friends that I had missed so badly. Happy birthday to my favorite singer ever. I look forward to seeing you again someday. Sincerely, Philip Molite

I fell in love with the sound of your voice when I was 12 years old while listening to a bad casette recording my brother gave me. I'm 46 now and I get the biggest thrill out of turning a whole new generation on to the dulcet tones of Greg Lake! Dear Greg. My best regards to you for your birthday the 10th. I wish to thank you for all the fine musical moments you have given me trough your all-important contribution within King Crimson and ELP. My older brother’s huge record collection was my source for inspiration when I was about the age of 10-12 (ca. 1972-74). Fortunately for me he was deep into British prog rock and “In the court of the Crimson King, “Pictures at an exhibition” and “Welcome back my friends…” where the first albums that received special attention. Since then I have listen to your voice and guitar playing very much(In long periods almost everyday). In that way you have been a part of my life for a long time. The recent years I have also learned that there is a mature reflecting human being behind the rock icon image. Having three children on my own, I am especially proud of the contributions you have done regarding abduction and exploitation of children. Love you Greg!

I recently turned 51, so I know what it is to have the numbers counting---- But--- It's amamzing how the purity and the "simplicity" of Rock'n'Roll helps to keep my soul Young, even to this day, from the wonderful tunes that I experienced in the 1970's!

Between that and the ELP shows in Albany '92 (Lucky Man) and Finger Lakes '98 (C'est La Vie - the selection for our first dance at my wedding one year ago), I truly benefit from all your work. Dear Greg, Happy Birthday from all your fans that you have given such great pleasure to over the years! I first saw you and ELP on a snowy night in February 1978 at the Nassau Collesium in Long Island , NY. I was age 14 and hitched to the show where I scalped 5th row seats for a whopping $35 dollars. Well worth it! The entire show was great, but as a father now of a 7 year old girl (Arielle), I'll always remember you dedicating "Watching Over Me" to your then 4 year old daughter Natasha. I just thought it was very human in the midst of a rock concert and told me much about your priorities. I look forward to seeing you at BB Kings in NYC soon. Take care and we will be there for you next time you come around. Best regards, Troy

hey greg, happy b-day. just wanted to say that i hope you have a tremendous day. and wanted to thank you for so many years of awesome music. at 50 (on nov. 30), i still enjoy layin back with my headphones on listening to take a pebble, still you turn me on, i talk to the wind, epitaph, karn evil, pictures, tarkus, - - - the list is LONG. (smile). i will forever remember seeing elp in milwaukee in the late 70's; your incredible voice, booming then soooo soft and thoughtful, your fingers playing magic; kieth's unbelievable keyboarding (and the utter destruction of his organ; jamming a knife? into the keys as he spun it on one corner, then bouncing it off the stage, playing it as he lay under it. the reverb was unreal; carl's percussion? simply not to be believed, , ,, , , , bottom line: you guys rocked our worlds in those days, set the standards for many future bands, and have continued over the years to deliver not just great music, but obviously great passion for what you do. for that i, and i'm sure many millions of others, bow and say thank you. have a great day. contently, mike "mr d" daniels small town usa

Hi Greg, You inspired me to play the guitar. In fact,"Lucky Man" was the first song I learned to play. It's been over 35 years. Because of your music, YOUR show will never end! Thanks and Happy Birthday, Dr. Rob

have a great and blessed birthday, each day is a gift. thank you for the giving of your gift of music. i enjoy your playing and singing. my most memorable concert of yours was at cobo arena in detroit during the brain salad surgery tour. i came the first night, and enjoyed it so much, we came back the second night with all the people i had told about the first show the night before. we had a great time, we still talk about that show whenever we travel down memory lane. i play some bass, and write some songs, i am encouraged by your playing. i look forward to seeing you tour at some point. HAPPY BIRTHDAY from tom h.

Happy Birthday Greg! Very best wishes for a healthy, happy and hopeful year. "All anguish, pain and sadness Leave your heart and let your road be clear" Good luck with the tour next year and hope to see you again at Newcastle. (Just thought I'd let you know that when I was at school and a big ELP fan we had 2 "right on" music teachers who really loved ELP and often "played" Jerusalem at our morning assemblies! Oh, Gawd - think of the missed copyright!!!!!!!!! love Sandra xxx

Dear Greg, Happy Birthday old friend!I hope you remeber me after all these years. My Father, Bob McCarthy did all your special effects in the 70's and 90's.I haven't seen you since "In the Hot Seat Tour".You always called me Sweet Pea, I'll never forget it, even when I first met you December 17th, 1973 at Madison Square Garden, when My Father made it snow inside the Garden and Keith was on the floating piano.Just wanted to refresh your memory as to who I am and to wish you all the best and many happy returns. Fondly, Karen McCarthy Travis

Happy Birthday Greg, Wishing you all the best in the coming year to include good health, inspiration for you writing, and a peaceful and joyous holiday season. My girls asked me just the other day how many times I've listed to your songs. When I asked them how many times they heard them and still enjoy listening to them we tried to do the math. We come up with over two thousand times for me, over 600 times for the 13 year old, and almost 900 times for the 17 year old. We then discussed if they have ever listened to any of their music that many times, the answer was "not even close". They both first heard your music in their mother's womb with headphones attached to hear stomach. Thank you for all the years of great music, may you find continued success in the coming year. Hope to see you soon. A devoted fan for over 35 years, Ken
